CM Fadnavis Promises Stability and Continuity in Maharashtra Government

After taking oath as Maharashtra’s Chief Minister on Thursday, Devendra Fadnavis vowed to deliver a stable government and ensure that the state’s development continues without disruption. He assured the public that all Mahayuti allies would remain united and work together to meet the state’s needs.

Fadnavis acknowledged the roles of Shiv Sena president Eknath Shinde and NCP leader Ajit Pawar, who took oaths as his deputies. Despite the changes in their roles, Fadnavis emphasized that their shared goals for the state’s future remain unchanged. “Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar are with me, and together, we will ensure a stable government. People have chosen us, and we will continue working together,” Fadnavis said. He highlighted that key initiatives, such as the ‘Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana,’ would continue under the new leadership.

Fadnavis assured that the Mahayuti government would keep up the momentum of the work done over the past two-and-a-half years, continuing development in sectors such as social welfare, infrastructure, and industry at a rapid pace. “While our roles may have changed, our focus and direction remain the same. Maharashtra will stay on the path of development,” he stated.

He also confirmed that the Speaker’s election would be held during a special session of the state assembly from December 7 to 9, with a cabinet expansion expected before the winter session. Fadnavis added that portfolios for the new cabinet were nearly finalized, with only minor changes to the previous assignments.

Following the swearing-in ceremony, Fadnavis, along with his two deputies, traveled to the state secretariat, Mantralaya, where they held their first cabinet meeting. The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union ministers, and several state CMs, alongside thousands of supporters from the alliance.
