BMW Unveils New M340i at ₹74.90 Lakh: A Blend of Performance and Luxury

BMW has introduced the updated version of its popular performance sedan, the M340i, in India at an ex-showroom price of ₹74.90 lakh. Positioned just below the flagship M3, this new model combines speed, luxury, and cutting-edge technology. The M340i has been a hit in the Indian market, with over 1,000 units sold so far.
Available for booking at all BMW dealerships and online, the refreshed M340i competes with luxury rivals like the Mercedes-Benz C300 AMG Line (₹69 lakh) and the Audi S5 (₹77.32 lakh). The new version looks similar to its predecessor but adds two striking new colors: Arctic Race Blue and Fire Red, along with existing options like Dravit Grey and Black Sapphire. The sedan rides on 19-inch Jet Black alloy wheels, enhancing its sporty appeal.
The interior sees updates with sport seats wrapped in Varnasca leather with M-themed stitching and a redesigned steering wheel featuring a red marker at the 12 o’clock position. The air vents have also been refreshed for a sleeker look. The car now comes with BMW’s new Curved Display, running on the latest 8.5 OS, replacing the previous 8.0 version.
Feature-packed, the M340i includes a 14.9-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, three-zone climate control, ambient lighting, a panoramic glass sunroof, wireless smartphone integration, and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system. Safety is prioritized with six airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and a parking assistant with a rearview camera.
Mechanically, the M340i retains its signature power with a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder turbo-petrol engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system. This setup generates 369 bhp and 500 Nm of torque, coupled with an 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission and BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system. The addition of M Adaptive suspension now comes standard, enhancing ride quality.
With a blistering 0-100 km/h time of just 4.4 seconds, the M340i is the fastest internal combustion engine car manufactured in India, offering drivers a thrilling experience with its Sport and Sport+ driving modes.
