IPL 2025 Mega Auction: 574 Players Up for Grabs in High-Stakes Bidding War in Jeddah
The stage is set for one of the biggest events in the cricketing calendar as the IPL 2025 Mega Auction gears up to take place on November 24-25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The much-anticipated player auction will feature a total of 574 cricketers, with 366 Indian players and 208 international stars entering the auction pool.
Among the 574 players, 318 are uncapped Indian talents, while 12 are uncapped overseas players, showcasing the league’s continued commitment to unearthing fresh talent. In total, there are 204 slots up for grabs, with 70 of those reserved for overseas players.
The highest reserve price category is set at ₹2 crore, with 81 players opting for this elite bracket. The largest group of players falls under the base price of ₹30 lakh, with 320 cricketers listed in that segment.

Notable names like Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, and KL Rahul, who were released by their respective franchises, will be the focus of intense bidding. For the first time since 2018, the marquee players are divided into two sets: the first set features Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, and Arshdeep Singh, while the second includes KL Rahul, Yuzvendra Chahal, Mohammed Shami, and Mohammed Siraj. The overseas marquee players include renowned stars such as Mitchell Starc, Jos Buttler, Liam Livingstone, David Miller, and Kagiso Rabada.

The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR), having retained the maximum of six players each, will not have any RTM cards. However, Punjab Kings (PBKS) will have four RTM cards, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) three, and Delhi Capitals (DC) two. Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Gujarat Titans (GT), Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), and Mumbai Indians (MI) each hold one RTM card.
